A "Doula" is a professional labor
assistant that provides continuous emotional and physical
support to women during pregnancy, labor/birth, and for a time
following the birth. Doulas do not replace the expertise
of the mother's medical care givers or the love and support of
the father/partner. Rather they all work together as a cohesive
team to help the parents achieve the best birth experience then
can.
As a Doula, I feel your birth experience
is exactly that... YOUR BIRTH EXPERIENCE. I am dedicated
to helping you define what is important to you and striving to
achieve it. Whether you choose natural childbirth, total medical
help, or somewhere in between, I will be there with you every
step of the way. My goal is to provide you with nurturing
informed support throughout your pregnancy and into the initial
days of parenthood.
Having an extra set of hands, another
caring heart and totally unbiased encouragement can really make
the difference.
